What is Beauty of Detroit Box?

 Beauty of Detroit Box is a quarterly self-care and lifestyle subscription that is a thoughtful way to make the most of your me-time and reconnect with what makes you so beautiful! Each box includes 4-6 unique, useful and delicious handpicked products from small businesses in metro Detroit. We highlight local artisans and small businesses that produce natural and organic products ranging from clean beauty, aromatherapy, unique lifestyle goodies, snack/drink and handmade home goods. There is also at least one customizable item per shipment. Each box is an opportunity to support four to six local businesses. Themes and items change each quarter. Previous themes included You Are Magic, In Full Bloom, Detroit Love.

How does it work?

This is a quarterly subscription delivered four times a year; March, June, September, December, which means a new themed box delivered to you each season.  You can choose to sign up for a recurring subscription, billed each quarter prior to shipment, or an annual subscription, billed one time in the beginning of the year. Once you are billed the subscription is guaranteed for the option you choose. 

When will I be billed?

Annual members will be billed on the date of purchase for the next four subscription boxes. If you are on a quarterly subscription, renewals are posted to your credit card on the 15th of each quarter - every 3 months.  You can log into your account to see your renewal date at any time. You will get a reminder email in advance in case you need to make a last-minute change to your address, billing information or skip a month. Please ensure your address is correct at check-out. Beauty of Detroit Box is not responsible for shipments lost due to incorrect addresses. If a box is returned to us due to an invalid address, a reshipping and handling fee of $8.95 will be charged to reship the package. 

What is your return policy? 

We do not offer refunds at this time. If you are unsatisfied, please let us know by emailing us at beautyofdetroitbox@gmail.com. If an item is damaged, missing or defective please contact us within 3 days of receiving the product. Please include a photo and upon review we will send a replacement out as quickly as we can or credit to your account. We understand you may receive an item that isn't for you, that is a great opportunity to gift the item to someone. 

What is your cancellation policy?

We're sad to see you go, consider "skipping a month" or pausing your subscription instead. However, we understand that our subscription isn't for everyone and that's okay. In order to cancel log into your account and click "cancel." Please cancel BEFORE the renewal date to not be charged prior to cancellation. When does the box ship?

We ship out our turquoise boxes the second week of each quarter and offer a discounted flat rate shipping of $6 per box for domestic shipping. We currently ship to Canada for a flat rate shipping fee of $15.82. Orders have an estimated 7 to 30+ business days for delivery, although Beauty of Detroit Box cannot guarantee a time frame for any processing delays that may arise through international post offices. Beauty of Detroit Box is not responsible for any applicable governmental taxes/custom fees for international shipments that may arise. 

The following is a shipping schedule and last day to order to be guaranteed that season's box.
Spring - order by February 28th, 2022, shipping begins at the beginning of March 2022
Summer - order by May 31, 2022 shipping begins at the beginning of June 2022.
Fall - order by August 31st, 2022, shipping begins at the beginning of September 2022.
Winter - order by November 30th, 2022, shipping begins at the beginning of December 2022. 

If your initial box is purchased within a season and the current seasonal box is still available your Beauty of Detroit Box will be processed and shipped within 2-5 days.   

Can I give this as a gift?

Absolutely! In fact, we started as a gift box company before making the transition to subscription and have been described as "a very thoughtful gift, it's unique and supports our Detroit business owners." To gift a subscription, just add it to your cart and check “This is a gift” at checkout. Choose the length of their subscription and whether or not it will automatically renew (or non-renewing, just a one-time box). You can leave a gift message which we’ll deliver with the box and via email when we ship it. Be sure that you correctly enter YOUR billing address but THEIR shipping address. 

How do I get my products in your box?
